Details

Typically, band programs are split between marching band in the fall and concert band in the winter and spring. As the first musical experience of the school year, the marching band sets the stage for the rest of the year. To lay the groundwork, it's crucial to teach musical concepts that can be applied throughout the year. Although these ensembles differ in terms of appearance, sound, and performance, they share a common challenge: creating a unified ensemble sound. By helping students understand how these skills translate from outdoor to indoor settings, you'll not only enhance their musicianship but also foster flexibility, self- awareness, and confidence in any ensemble.
